About Rochelle Powell, LCSW

As a Therapist

As a therapist, I approach clients’ concerns using solution-focused strategies to help clients meet their personal, psychosocial, and emotional wellness goals. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and motivational interviewing skills to encourage and support clients while they embrace their strengths, and learn to focus on the positive in their lives.

In session, I enjoy utilizing experiential practices such as art techniques, music, meditation, poetry, and writing activities to help clients relieve stress, and understand their feelings from a different perspective. I emphasize the importance of healthy self-care to aid clients in facilitating their own healing, especially when addressing past traumas, and issues regarding confidence and self-esteem.

The poet Rumi once said, “The wound is the place where the light enters you.” In therapy, we can work together to bring out your strength, resilience, and the best version of you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Let's begin working together on increasing your sense of inner peace and well-being today!

I am an alumna of the Florida State University Masters of Social Work Program, where I graduated in 2011. There, I also obtained my Bachelors Degree in Sociology, with a minor in Women’s Studies in 2009. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (SW16663).
